The Dixie Heritage Show: Chaos & Civil War

The Constitution of the United States gives citizens the right to petition their government with a redress of grievance. Only one problem, the Constitution does not tell us how exactly that we go about doing it. Another problem, what if the normal processes of government have been closed to the people? Dr. Ed does his best to make sense of the Chaos that was Wednesday. is this what “civil war” looks like? The program begins with an excerpt from the last speech given by the late Dr. Martin Luther King. Ironically, they are more appropriate today for white Americans than they were decades ago when he spoke them to a crowd of black Americans.

The Past Repeats Itself: Cincinnati Riots Result in Speedy Trials

1884 riots, ohio1884 riots, ohio Thu, Apr 3, 1884 – Page 1 · The Sun (New York, New York) · Newspapers.com

With the events that transpired in Washington, D.C. on January 6, 2021 still fresh in the minds of the public, I thought it would be a good time to remind everyone that , despite the “shock” of our Congress and Senate, it is not uncommon for citizens to take to the streets when they feel justice is not being served.

The April 3, 1884 issue of The Sun [New York, New York] carries just such a story.

Although, details are vague, it appears that at one time Cincinnati, Ohio had a problem providing those who had been held in their jail, with a speedy trial. In fact, the problem became so bad that citizens rioted. The riots became so bad that the Ohio National Guard was deployed.

According to the paper the riots resulted in 45 killed and 188 wounded. Yet the paper states that:

“The citizens are unanimous in wanting no more mobs, and yet they are not convinced that the original purpose of the mob was not a righteous one.”

Meaning that while they didn’t want more rioting, they believed those committing the act were justified. It is interesting to note that as a result of the riot, the judges were making arrangements to conduct more speedy trials, and the commissioners were looking into building a structure in which more court proceedings could be held.

The Rape of Delaware County

I thought I would share an interview I participated in with Dr. Ed Devries in April of last year, promoting my book The Rape of Delaware County of the TBR History Hour. The book is the story of veteran Edwin Turlington’s encounter with a convicted felon on his [Edwin’s] property. Edwin was attacked and had to shoot the felon in the leg to protect himself. But instead of pursuing charges against the felon the local sheriff’s department pursued charges against Edwin. What transpires afterword is the story of corrupt politicians and law enforcement officers that would eventually make international headlines when the former Delaware County , Oklahoma Prosecutor was arrested in a murder-for-hire / prostitution plot. Sage Wanderer on The Second Boston Tea Party

I’ve been following Sage Wanderer on YouTube for quite a while now. He has used his channel to document his life’s stories (See Perils of an Interesting Life). Sage is a very talented musician and that’s kind of where his story begins. His band at one time had three record companies courting him until one day, he was presented with a “Crossroads” moment. He could sell his soul and have success or have to slug it out in the honky tonks for the rest of his life because the powers that be would make sure he was blackballed in the entertainment industry.

Sage kept his soul intact and the offers from the record companies disappeared (along with the phonecalls from the clubs he had always been in demand at).

He spent some time as a preacher before returning to the bars (those who would book him) and all of it lead to a very interesting life.

Of course “Sage” isn’t his real name but it fits him.

Wikipedia defines a “Sage” as:

“Someone who has attained wisdom. The term has also been used interchangeably with a ‘good person’, and a ‘virtuous person.”

I have to say that from all of the videos I have watched of his stories and commentaries, he definitely lives up to his moniker.

His latest video is a summation of his thoughts about the events that transpired yesterday at the Capital Building in Washington, D.C. and in my opinion, it’s time well spent watching it.

Note: Sage does not have dyslexia (that I know of) he has to speak and title his videos in code when mentioning certain keywords or YouTube’s AI censor will “flag” him and remove his channel.

Dick Morris Schools Sean Spicer

Pollster Dick Morris described Vice President Mike Pence’s actions yesterday as a “betrayal”.

I was watching Spicer and Company on Newsmax TV tonight, the host, former Press Secretary for President Trump Sean Spicer, was interviewing pollster Dick Morris and asked him what he thought about Vice President Mike Pence’s actions yesterday.

To put things into perspective, as Vice-President Pence could have excluded the electors from the states that have experienced massive, documented fraud, and had the state legislators decide the matter. Instead he folded like a cheap suit.

But I digress, before Dick Morris was asked the question, Spicer stated that he and Morris had disagreed before but he [Spicer] prefaced the question by stating he believed Pence had been as loyal as one could be to President Trump.

I don’t have the transcript to make a direct quote so I am going to paraphrase a bit.

Morris answered Spicer by stating, “That’s like asking did you enjoy the play Mrs. Lincoln?”

Morris then stated Pence’s actions yesterday were “as disloyal as one could get” and “After yesterday he will be unable to be elected dog catcher.”

When Mike Pence awakened yesterday morning he was confronted with two possibilities for his future: He could reject the electors from the swing states that suffered massive voter fraud and be remembered as a hero or he could side with the establishment and be remembered as a coward.

Unfortunately Pence chose the latter. He will forever be remembered as a traitor to his country and a coward in the minds of everyone.
