I went to Mom and Dad’s Sunday for dinner. Afterwards one of my brothers took the 4-wheeler up in the hills to take a look at the old farm pond.
The farm used to belong to my Great Grandfather, who raised both crops and cattle on it.
The pond served a practical purpose for watering cattle back then, but in recent years was in need of repair.
This past Spring, Dad hired a local bulldozer operator to repair the levee and when my brother returned from investigating he reported, “It’s holding water.”
Curious as to what it looked like now, I took the 4-wheeler up to have a look for myself and take a few pictures.
Today the farm provides for an abundance of wildlife, which, no doubt, will appreciate the increased water level of the pond.
